MyFonts does it with character(s)

Back in July, MyFonts printed a bunch of t-shirts with the intention of handing them out to attendees of TypeCon in Buffalo, New York. Each shirt features a large glyph and the name of the font family it comes from, as well as a small print of the new MyFonts logo on the sleeve. 12 designs were printed, each on different colors of American Apparel t-shirts. These are the glyphs we featured:

Originally we had hatched a grand scheme to play some form of human Scrabble, using groups of conference attendees in our new shirts as letter tiles (imagine type nerds lined up, spelling out different words with their t-shirts)… the photo ops would have been priceless! Unfortunately, there were some shipping complications, and the boxes of shirts didn’t arrive at the conference hotel until the morning after the conference had ended. Now we have about 250 shirts, in sizes from S through XXL, sitting in boxes at the main MyFonts office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, looking for backs to clothe.

Hhhmmm, its a thought though-could printed to order t-shirts with a glyph of the orderee's choice (fro a font of their choice) be a profitable sideline for MyFonts and its foundries?
