Sessions: A New Take on Kombinationsschrift
John Skelton - aka Afrojet - brings us the brilliant new modular display face Sessions, a total reimagining of Joseph Albers’ Kombinationsschrift alphabet. Using OpenType technology, alternates - including the “splayed bottoms” of many characters - can be turned on or off; this, combined with techniques such as adding interesting and varied coloring the different pieces that make up the letters, make it far more flexible and useful for display use than many other experimental geometric faces.
This is the first release from Skelton, a Portland, OR-based designer originally from St. Paul. We hope to see more of John’s bold and playful geometric experiments in the near future!
